The City Gosau/Salzkammergut
Gosau at Dachstein, 14 km from Hallstatt and approx. 30 km south of Bad Ischl, is situated in the midst of the idyllic mountain and lake landscape of Salzkammergut. Railway station Steeg-Gosau 10 km. Salzburg approx. 60 km. Worth seeing are the famous caves, the 3000 year old Hallstatt with its oldest salt mine in the world as well as the emperor's residence in Bad Ischl. A number of entertainment possibilities such as e.g. discos, 'Heurigen-Weinstube', Alm huts, barbecue evenings.
