Small, picturesque holiday village, in the northern part of the island 2 km from the sea, 34 km west from Sassnitz, 43 km north-west from Bergen, 70 km from Stralsund. In the resort: shops, restaurant. More possibilities for shopping 7 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Rostock (RLG) 173 km, Berlin (TXL) 330 km. Putgarten is the most northern community on the island of Ruegen with its well-known 'Cap Arkona', the castle ramparts from Slovenian times and the oldest lighthouse on the Ostsee coast. The listed fishing town of Vitt (1.3 km) is definitely worth a visit.
