The City Lignano
This well-known seaside resort is situated on a peninsula which stretches from the Tagliamenta river to the border between Veneto and Friuli. Lignano is divided into 3 distinctive sections which stretch along 12 km of sandy beaches. Lignano Sabbiadora goes as far as the Merano lagoon, it is there that you find the well-known 'Terrazza Mare', the symbol of Lignano. This area can be defined as the heart of Lignano with its entertainment and its shops. As indicated by the name, Lignano Pineta is completely surrounded by a pine forest which stretches between the sea and the lagoon. Situated at the mouth of the Tagliamento river, Lignano Rivera is the most recent area and the most characteristic with its detached houses and small apartment buildings.
