Historical resort, in the eastern part of the region directly by the sea, in a convenient position, 50 km north-east from Alicante, 125 km south-east from Valencia. For arrivals by plane: airport Valencia-Manises (VLC) 135 km, Alicante-El Altet (ALC) 65 km. Pretty, picturesque old town with shops. Lovely seaside promenade. Many international artists are based in Altea, giving the town a bohemian character. Market on Tuesdays. A car is recommended. It is possible to hire the Internet (USB stick) 39.95 Euros/week, to be booked in advance.
